tell tail water jet

hi, does anyone know where the water should flow from on a 1975 johnson 20 hp outboard. it pumps water from the exhaust (luke warm consistent flow)but should there be some sort of tell tail on this motor? cheers for any replies

I do not believe that engine had one. As I recall, they installed them in 76 and later engines.

the water goes thoe the prop with the exst. you can add a tell tail onto your motor real easyly ..
