I just completed the 300 hr service on my 2015 Mercury 115 CT outboard. (Oil, Impeller, and Thermostat). My issue is that the Tell Tail is now irregular. It takes longer than before to start "peeing" and will get stronger and lighter, including completely stop after its been going. This shows up at idle and in gear (under 1500 RPMs - have not fully run it).
I thought I might have put the impeller on wrong or sealed it incorrectly so I pulled the lower unit again and inspected and reinstalled as nothing looked wrong. I also put shop air to the tell tail to blow it out in case something had gotten stuck in there.
I have a question on if the Thermostat could be causing this. If The tell tail was not working at all or just drippling I could understand what the problem might be. But its very irregular and I double checked the impeller. Final note - The boat has not indicated an overheat (also only running at idle).
