My question to all is (1) Do you feel safer today from terrorist, (2) Do you think the 3 trillion dollar increase in debt does not matter, and (3)Are we more of a united America.

No blame it on the politicians or political parties, or the liberal conservative crud. I would like honest opinions and why do feel the way you do.

Re: Tell me truly

We spend a trillion bucks on enough stupid stuff, like at work, we've got people that waste away thousands a day on stupid decisions, but we still pay them.

Any SAFER, not really

More united? probably less tollorant of others not of our look.

Re: Tell me truly

1 Do i feel safe ?Yea, but falsly, with open borders all around us letting in who ever, which goes back to a different subject about judges and laws.
2 yea the debt matters ,lets knock it off starting with the lobbiest's,then go to the welfare fraud etc. etc..which goes back to were?
3 Yes we are united, when bad things happen, but we as a nation have a tendancy to forget real quick, and start placing blame, which is a shame,if it was up to me the fall of the twin towers would be on evernight at the beginning of the news.but thats just me.
What your asking is not a democratic question or a republican or independant.
I responded to the questions and thats it for me.
I feed the troll :D Thats my peace.enjoy

Re: Tell me truly

1. I feel a lot safer than I would with Kerry in the White House. I also feel a lot safer than I did in the 60s.

2. Of course the debt level matters, but as a percentage of the US economy it is a lot lower than it was during WWII, Korea or Nam.

3. We are less united than at any time since the late 60s, when we were close to civil war. The current disunity has the same cause as the disunity of the 60s: Naive, chicken hearted idealists turning their backs on our ideals, our country and our leaders when the going got tough.

We walked out on our ally, abrogated SEATO, and abandoned them to Communist aggression, thus "losing" that war because of liberal idealists and we could "lose" this one for the same reason.

Re: Tell me truly

JB, I tend to agree with your #3, but....
I do not think that the way the idiot-in-chief is handling the WHOLE issue is appropriate, or in the nations best interest. Our citizenry does indeed have "Naive, chicken hearted idealists", I read defeatists. However we also have some very intelligent astute citizens who do not believe baby bush's solution is correct either. I happen to be one of those. How can spending billions in another country to depose its leader when we are neglecting our own citizens be the right way to protect the American people. When our children consistently score lower than many other developed countries on nearly every test, how can this neglect of the education system be considered increasing our nation's security? When police forces have to cut back on patrols, officers etc how can this be increasing or protecting our nation's security? Would our tax dollars not be better spent sealing of our borders first? Couldn't a terrorist sneak across from Mexico or Canada with a fake ID and board a plane if they wished to? No, wait, the Republican scenario is they would have to move into the US, place calls to a known terrorist harboring country, hold major get togethers with large numbers of likely terrorists, then try to sneak bulky weapons onto a plane.

Merely to imply that unless you fully, mindlessly support our so-called leaders you otherwise are a naive, chicken hearted idealist turning you back on our ideals, our country...
is very unlike your usual demeanor.

Dissention IS patriotic. Dissention is what made this country. If we always mindlessly followed our leaders without question or consideration we would still be a British Colony. So please do not even appear to imply that I am unpatriotic or naive just because I do not believe baby bush is doing a good job or steering this country in the right direction.

I was just told by a friend that I am a good guy, an honest, talented mechanic and worthy of succeeding in my young business. But that I just have a bad political view. That's the nicest way I've been told that I was wrong for not blindly following bush, "'Cause he says so." yet. No one has my best interests at heart, except me. So until someone does, I will always question another's motives. In this case I firmly believe baby bush has his own personal agenda and the United States is merely his checkbook.

Thank you all for your consideration and I appreciate the restraint I am confident all will show in replying to this thread.

And to answer TX,
1) No I do not. Not significantly less, but also not in the most common ways.
2) Absolutely it matters, but JB poses a good point.
3)I think we are more of a common mindset than the radical poles of the political spectrum would have us beleive. However I do not believs that we are truly unified on most political issues. I think that where we are not far apart on the issues, but we are not side-by-side either.

Re: Tell me truly

I wish to PECALUMER someone would offer a better plan instead of this constant sniping!!

All I see is sophmoric griping about "the way he is handling" the war. You don't cotton picking know how he is handling the war and you aren't gonna know because we don't want the enemy to know. All you "know" is what you get from sound bytes by the liberal establishment who have offered NO alternatives except to abandon the Iraqis to Al Qeada.

Thank Mother Nature I didn't have people like you backing me up when my life was on the line in your defense.

Nope it's not just you Ron! If I ever buy a TV station, it darn sure will be on there every night. As will the "Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless The U.S.A.".

David L Moore, stick it pal. That's as nice as I can be. Go contribute to Hilary's campaign, cause you obviously follow her words, "just because". Unpatriotic, please, you're just an idiot!

I always laugh when the media state that the debit is higher now than ever before.

Of course it is, dont they know what inflation is? Dont they know the USA is getting bigger everyday.

How bout doing a good comparision of dividing the total debt by the number of people, or by GDP?

And JB is right, do you have a better answer????

A better question would be, do you sleep better tonight knowing Saddam is out, or do you think you would be sleeping better knowing Saddam was still in power and doing who knows what?

Ken
