Tech Docs for 1968 Johnson 6hp

I just acquired this engine the other night. I've been out of the boating scene for a bit too long. So as a get away from work and school I bought this old motor. Years ago I had a 55 5.5 Johnson and their were some great sites with awesome tech support and documentation. Do any of those still exist, am I just looking in the wrong the places? Any help is greatly appreciated. -Dan

Iboats has a good Evinrude and Johnson forum page - start a thread there with any specific problems, and you should get some good feedback from some experienced users. In terms of documentation, you can find a free parts diagram online. Just do a google search for marine engine parts.

best bet is to buy a service manual specific to your motor.....not the generic type tho. for basic stuff, google boatinfo. and as mentioned, the j/e section of this forum has some guys that sold and serviced those motors when they were new, and other members that know every "nut and bolt" for many vintage omc's.
