Have a Wellcraft 190 American that has a couple of small soft spots in the floor. Was wondering if I could take up the plywood and install some teak planing or similar material? Failing that, is there a good book that will instruct me on this and other type of restorative work?

Thanks for your help!!

Re: Teak planking on floor?

Ayuh,...

Usually,.. the plywood deck is a somewhat Structual part of the Hull...
After it's replaced,...
It's possible to Teak over it, maybe...

As for a Book,....
A couple hours spent reading in this forum will teach you Way More,.. for Free...
Do a Seach for deck replacement, or even Floor replacement, not that We like to call the deck a Floor, some folks still do...

Welcome Aboard,+ Good Luck...

There is a place north of me (Mesa Az) that will custom make a teak or teak and holly sole to put down on top of the plywood. MAN ALIVE does it look sharp but teak costs $$$ I dont have.
