If he's really interested to learn and do this he'll be fine.....I've found lots of younger folks just lack any curiosity/interest in cars, boats, motorcycles, airplanes, etc....I really don't know what turns these kids on!??

I'm sorry but where were you in my life??? I'm usually on my own to figure crap out.

I wish I could say that I didn't quit any jobs when I was a kid because they were too hard. Or that I was a good, diligent worker at every job. But I can't.

Sometimes we learn as much or more from our failures as we do from our successes. Good for you, harleyman, for giving him a chance!

Our oldest Grandson has lived with us for a few years due to his Dad's death and our daughter's dereliction. He will be 16 next Tuesday and will be a strong man. He was out re-tiling his fire pit last night. In my opinion we all need something positive in life. I think your Nephew will remember the opportunity, harleyman.

Sounds like the "grass is greener" syndrome. A lot to learn for sure...

It seems the younger generation has lost all sight of work ethic. Everyone expects that $15 an hour when they have a $7 an hour skill set. I taught my kids at a young age that no matter what line of work you are in at the time, be the best at it, and they have made me extremely proud. I hope you can find that one that will take the ball and run!
