My 1995 SeaRay started taking on water in back. It stops taking it on when trim is lowered but starts again when trim is raised about 3/4 and gets worse as you raise it. Would appreciate help in diagnosis.

outdrive bellows. Get it fixed before putting it in the water again, you WILL sink fairly quickly.

If it's an I/O, that is likely the problem and yes, it will sink fairly quickly. Even if it doesn't actually sink, high water will damage the starter and other electrical parts.

Get it fixed before you use it again.

Yeah, it's the bellows. That's the rubber boot around the outdrive that- guess what?- Keeps the water from coming in!
When ours went, we were anchored at an island with the out drive all the way up so as to not bounce off the bottom. Leaked like a sieve and I noticed from the beach that the boat was riding low. Went back on board and also noticed the bilge pump was running. Yikes! Fortunately, on ours, when the drive was lowered the leak stopped. Back to the lift, ASAP!

Don't remember the price - ~ 400.00 I think.
