My trailer scrapes the ground when going over bumps or dramatic incline changes... any one else have this problem? I have a 2010 Tahoe Q4 sf. Thanks all,

Is your trailer/boat sitting level before towing or does the tow vehicle have the tougne at a higher level than the aft of the trailer. A step hitch may need to be installed to level the boat.

Yeah, I got a four inch drop for my Tahoe suv and the trailer is level but it still seems to scrape. I heard other Tahoe boats scrape too and was wondering if there are any preventative techniques to stop scraping. Thanks

I have the same problem when coming down high speed humps.
As long as the trailer hitch is the correct height I really don't think there is anything you can do.

Whilst I really do look after my boat and trailer like a baby, I think it will bother you more because you have 2010 whilst I have a used 2007!

Yeah, it sure does bother me! I love my boat but am already thinking about upgrading... This was my first boat to see if my family likes it, which they absolutely do, and it is getting a bit small and unpowerful. I am considering Tahoe 288??? Any advice??? Thanks,

Re: Tahoe Q4 trailer scraping

We've had ours for a year now and the first time we went out in it we loved it but within the hour my wife said "we need a bigger boat" !!

I do sometimes toy with the idea but getting a bigger boat starts changing the whole dynamics of owning.
My Q4 is just the right size to trailer and getting bigger would maybe mean getting a berth.
The cost of that here is ridiculous and out of the question.

My babys fine even though she has a sore bum through scraping the humps;)

True... But, the main problem with our q4 is that we only have the 3.0 liter engine with 135 hp and it is tough to do watersports with it

aaah. I was told that 135 was OK for watersports and almost bought one as it was my first boat and I didn't think I needed the extra power.
I'm glad I found the 220HP as it feels just right.
I think I could do with a different prop though as I'm not really interested in top speed but need a quicker hole shot.
Trouble is I don't know enough about props yet to decide. I need someone to tell me...."buy this, it's right for you"

Yeah, I wish I could of got the 220 hp, but in 2010 they only offer the 3.0 liter 135 hp engine. And for the prop, I also want a better torque prop. I was told to get a four blade 19 pitch prop. All Tahoe boats are usually standard with a three blade 21 pitch and I heard that is more for speed.
Thanks,
