As a new boater, I am looking for some help and feedback out there on this topic. I purchased my first boat in January 2009, a 2008 215 I/O. We love the boat but noticed after this first summer of use, hairline cracking where the floor meets the sides/seat base and drivers console. What has been the response to what seems to be an on going problem with Tahoe's? Any suggestions on where to start to get the right answers?

thanks in advance

Hey Upnorth4,

Welcome to iBoats. You have undoubtedly already heard about Tahoes deck cracking from a few posts. Although, I have had my boat for two years now, I have not had this problem occur. Since the boat is still under warranty, the first thing to do is to take it back to your selling dealer and have them make the repairs. I would also notify Tracker Marine and get a case number so that you can use it for reference in the future. Make sure you take plenty of pictures. Hairline cracks are cosmetic and should not affect the boat. However, should the problem spread or you notice that the floor is flexing more, then I would continue persisting on making a claim.

Right now with the boating season about over and having to store the boat for the winter cut your storage cost/space by having your boat sent back to the manufacture for a full deck replacement, and have it back just like new for next season.

We bought a 2010 on 06/12/09, QSF7, the floor cracked on it less than a month after having it, but there were many other problems, it seems as though they had a whole line of boats that were not made or put together properly, it causes a loud whacking noise on the inside bottom of the hull, something to do with support stringers that weren't put in the boat. Anyway, they have had our boat for aprox. 160 days now, we missed summer, and we have hired a lemon lawyer, they have offered to replace the boat, but we are at a point of just give us our money back, we have been lied to over and over and shuffled around since our purchase. I say good luck, you are going to need it.
