Hi Guys,

I am posting around these forums and finding a lot of people indicating issues with these boats. I know they are not a bayliner, but still considered an entry level boat.

The boat I am looking at is a 2008 Q5i SF 4.3L MPI fuel injected 220 hp model. The link is here....
http://www.crateslakecountryboats.c...iew/Details/2008-Tahoe-Ski-n-Fish-Q5i-SF.aspx

The price is more than I wanted to spend but if this is a good deal i'd consider it... almost $20,000 for this boat? Canadian prices are wacked out compared the U.S....

What do you guys think? Stay away from Tahoe? or is this a value boat to consider?

Thanks!

I should also mention I am considering a 2004 Caravelle 187 4.3 L fish and ski with 190 hp. Not sure if one is obviously better than the others... it is here...

I love my Tahoe and it was well worth the money.

Hey Frankrom, I am also from Ontario and interested in purchasing a Ski & Fish Bowrider boat but not till next year. From my research I'm leaning towards Tahoe but I'm still leaving all options open. Please post a follow up of what you do end up purchasing and what lead you to that decision. Thanks

Re: Tahoe Boats - Am I making a Mistake?

I just bought my Tahoe this year and so far I love it. Tahoe boats have a lot of great features. I had a Glastron Gt 185 before my Tahoe and there are a lot of things I like better on the Tahoe over the Glastron. I think with a used boat it depends a lot on the condition of the boat and how well it has been maintained by previous owners. Any boat can have problems. I would lean toward the one that YOU like the most. Good luck

Hard to tell from pictures, but it looks good from the outside. The price seems a little high to me ($20k) for a 2008 Q5, probably leaving room for negotiation. I bought my 2010 Q4 in 2011 as a new boat that was a leftover, paid $17,500. There are a few things that I had to adjust to my liking myself (cooler latch, bimini mount) but overall it's been a great boat. I've done the 20 hour service and am currently enjoying it in our second season. No problems to date.

I have a 2011 Q7i and I love it. Only one minor problem which was fixed under warranty at the 20 hour service mark. I'd buy a Tahoe again and recommend it to people who ask.
