Looking for a very versatile boat and have determined that the Tahoe 216 seems to be the most versatile for the money. Would like to hear opinions on these units if anyone hase them. Also being very similar to the 215 I/Os impressions of those are appreciated as well.

Thinking I will get the 5.0L MPI

Also, anyone who has purchased a Tahoe new, is the online price that they claim to be the bottom line REALLY the bottom line?

Thanks,
DJ

I know when I just purchased my 2007 Tracker Targa 185 Sport the price on the internet was the price. I tried to get them to lower the price but they said that was the price period.

Re: Tahoe 216 / 215

I spent a good deal of time on the internet looking for lower pricing, and for 2007 models I didn't find much variation. There were dealers that were over the Tahoe internet pricing, but for the most part, no one more than $500 under.

However, I worked on finding a 2006 (Q6 SF 4.3). There was variation here. Some dealers tried to get full 2007 pricing with freight and prep. I was able to save about $2000 off the 2007 price w/f+p, plus I got a bimini top and tandem trailer with brakes.

When was that? The 2008s should be out soon. Unfortunately, the 216 is new for 2007, so finding a 2006 isn't an option for that boat. maybe I can change my mind and go for a 228 or something. I like the 216 because it seems like it can do anything fairly decently with the fishing set ups and the windshield. Definately want a windshield as the wind gets to be a pain, particularly once it cools off.

That was in May. I think you have the right idea, though. I was actually in the market for a Q4 SF with the 4.3l. There was a glut of Q4 Sf 3.0, but I was going to have to order the 4.3 for about the same money I paid for the q6. When I was searching through dealers inventory on the net, I kept finding '06 Q6 SFs. I found a dealer (that just happened to be local) with six '06 Q6. I wound up with a slightly larger boat for less money. I would think that now that the 4th is behind us, dealers would be anxious to move their current inventory. Good luck in your search. The 216 is really a nice boat.

I purchased a 2007 Q7i, and the factory price was the actual sales price (minus a bunch of add ons, I opted for). I was at the time, and still am impressed with the Tahoe line and the dealer I delt with. I did opt for the 5.0 carb engine, as thats what they had on the lot, and I didnt want to spend the summer waiting for "special order" boat. Its has plenty of power at 220HP, so Im happy with my decision. I think you will be too.

I bought a new 2007 216 I/O. I have the 5.0 260 horse power. I love the boat. I also have a motorguide wireless W75 24 volt trolling motor. It is a very versatile boat and has plenty of room for the family and even the grandkids.
As far as the pricing goes, there is little room for budging, however, the dealer I went through was able to throw in a bow filler cushion, snap on bow cover, snap on cockpit cover, a moring cover and a road cover. The great thing about the 2007 is that the tandem axle trailer has a folding tongue. This makes it possible for me to put it in my garage.

I am extremely happy with this boat and all the accessories. The engine even won a JD Power award this year.

Re: Tahoe 216 / 215

I picked up a 2008 Q6 last week with the 4.3 220 V6 and it's sweet.

I toped out at 58 MPH today with stock prop.

This thing turns and handles like a champ. You can do a 180 doing
50 MPH and the boat stays level and you feel real safe.

The price was the same as the 2007 Q6 and they wouldn't haggle
on the base price or shipping etc..

I did get a free top and free labor on a debth finder at dealer cost
and three free life jackets.

I went 98 miles the last two days doing 40 - 50 MPH and burned
21 gallons of gas. I cruised about 45 miles the other day doing about 30 MPH and burned about 8-9 gallons of gas.

The RPMS do seem a bit high at full throttle at 5200 RPS ?
