Tachometer for Yamaha

I have a g3 1860cct with a yamaha 2 stroke 90hp, im tring to install a tach but having problems with the wireing. They say the boat is wired but what wires? The tach is a faria.

If Yamaha follows standard wiring colors it will be purple for +12VDC, Black for ground and Grey for Tach signal.

I dont see them colors i have a yellow , black , green , and a red

You might repost in the proper OB forum. Maxrules.com has some wiing diaghrams. I do not know if they have Yamaha.
