tach

the boat is a 82 gibson aq145a and tach doesnt work .does it run off coil ? volvo eng. can they be checked off boat ? or what can i check my self .thanks

have to check wiring, should be connected to coil. if all making connection, its dead. if u have an old timing light, that has one in it, u can use it for testing and such. or an old dwell meter.
the techs are cheap.
