tach problems

I have a 96 mariner 60 hp bigfoot, #og381643.Sometimes when I start it up the tach don't work & after a few miutes it will start working.I have been having problems with it losing power after about 45 minutes at or near wide open throttle.Could these 2 problems be related?

get a service manual, youll need to start some tests on your stator and regulator/rectifier, also continuity on the related wiring, possibly one faulty component causing 2 problems

I do have a manual ,but the boat is at the lake in the water right now.I am still able to use it ,but was wondering if the 2 problems could be related.Will the rectifier /regulator cause both ?The stator was supposedly replaced before I bought the pontoon a month ago.I don't have to pull it out of lake till october 15th,which I will check it out then.Just thought maybe some one would have an answer before then<br /> Thanks<br /> Charlie

also my my charging guage reads almost to 16 volts sometimes
