I bought a 2006 Tahoe Q6 a few months ago runs great i was told by many people that the boat has few hours. The older man i bought this boat from didn't even take the boat out last year. This year before he tried to sale it he hooked the battery up backwards the mech. he hired to fix it and tell him what he done wrong. I've noticed from time to time the starter will just click thinking thats just a lose wire (not very often) and when it does just try it again and it starts. But the Tach. goes crazy alot of the time I look at the voltage regulator wire tight check volts while running 14.3 to 14.6 when tach is crazy and not crazy idleing and few RPM's. Checked at the battery and off the altentor. Any ideas?

I'm no help to you other than suggesting that you ask the same question to a different thread where the know-how people are watching and may be able to give you a hand.

Check where the red wire goes to the starter there will be a fuse link, abt 1 inch square. Make sure it is tight at the starter, and the wires coming off the back of the fuse. Be careful if you try to tighten , the solinoid is plastic and will break easy.I would be tempted to take back to the mechanic.
