Does anyone know if I could wire an in dash tach for a 1992 15HP evinrude? I do have a charging system on it but it's pull start.
I heard that you may be able to connect to the yellow wire on the stator?
thanks for any input.

no tilt or trim. Yes.. I'm trying to prop it. It is possible with a standard tach (not minitach).
Just need wiring instructions if possible.
thanks, BB>
Of course you can use a regular alternator driven tach on it (the industry standard). Connect to one of the yellow wires and ground. You will also need a 12V battery to power it. I believe it is 5 pulses per rev (10 pole).
