tach&charging don't work 1995 40 hp

i have a 1995 spectrum with a 40 hp .ive changed out the stater&volt reg still don;t work can some one help

Let's start with a little info.

Do you have a repair manual, if so, which one?

Does the engine run?

You had the battery disconnected when you put n the new regulator, right?

Any chance you reversed the battery cables when you hooked up the battery, even for a split second?

Have you double checked the wiring back to the battery (red wire)?
