system check gage 50 hp johnson

I have a 50 hp johnson 2000. If i disconnect the system check gage, will the alarm horn still work. I disconnected the vro syatem and the only thing on the gage i need is water temp. I was thinking of just installing a water temp gage along with a tachometer which i don't have at present.

The System check Tach activates the horn. If you disconnect it you will not have tach or water temp alarms.

Disconnect the tan/some trace color wire at the OMS pump, and leave the system Check gauge alone.
