hi, winterizing my boat. do i have to use volvo penta synthetic gear oil or is mobil synthetic gl 5 just as good?

As long as it's synthetic, and has the GL-5 spec on the product, it's OK.

I noticed yesterday as I was shopping for that stuff that conventional valvoline gear oil has the GL-5 spec on it. Should we still stick with synthetic?
