We have a 21 foot SOUthland 1999 and r thinking of trading for a 07 SYlvan 8520 instead of buying a larger motor. Are the boats comparable as to quality, construction, pontoons....

Sylvans are good boats, but since you were complaining about the suitability of your lake for barges I question the wisdom of trading down to a smaller one. You'll get more and better input if you have this moved to the Pontoon section.
