Seriously, shouldn’t I be able to take the drain plug off with a screwdriver and minimal effort? So far I broke one screwdriver and left a nice mark with an impact. It seemed I am just ruining the slot at this point.
It’s not reverse threads, right?

Any tips from y’all?

Maybe a little heat on it? There is a rubber gasket on the drain screw.

Soooooooooooo?
Yup, had an old chisel laying around that needed a little grinder work to get it perfectly flat. Gave it to’er and that’ll work. Waiting on my new plug thanks to the previous attempts. 👍
Too bad it couldn’t have been literally any other head screw…

One wonders why it's not Torx or Allen head.

But it could be harder. A VP duo prop requires you to remove both props (using the tool) and the drain plug is behind the back prop.

Biggest thickest flat head you can find…lock it hard into the slot with your inner knee..use a shifting spanner on the screwdriver flat (or better stil..if you get a screwdriver with a hex on it to get a spanner on properly)…she will loosen fine.
