i have a 2005 1802 that i'm very happy with. over the winter i'd like to install a swim platform..i installed smart-tabs a month or so ago and when i drilled the holes for the top mount i noticed theres not much in the way of re-inforcement once u get above a certain point...i would hate to mount a swim platform to have it pulled off the back of the boat!! i've seen them on the boat just wondering if anyone had any ideas before i start drilling.

Yup...install backing plates. That could be anything from glassing wood in place to not glassing it to making stainless steel plates to fender washers. It would depend on the loading. Personally? I'd get ahold of some stainless steel flat stock and make backing plates out of it.
