swaping Power Heads?

i currently have the force 125 L drive, heard these engines were crap, mine still runs but i heard they are still crap. is there anyway to possibly swap out the crapy force for say a yamaha or something else?

you can swap powerheads.<br /><br />yes, they are crap.<br /><br />you can remove the entire motor and replace with any motor from any company that is still in business, no matter what, and youll be better off.<br /><br />but you cant swap powerheads. sorry<br /><br />runn the heck outa the force. its still got life left in it. when it dies, use it as an anchor

so i can swap the engines in the L drive? liek to another one yama etc when the force dies? or i cant? i mean the L drive is basically a power head that it mated to a drive, so if i got another power head that is more reliable then i will be better no?

If its running well and parts aren't failing, its not crap.<br /><br />You can not put in a Yamaha powerhead, or any other powerhead.<br />You can replace the powerhead with another Force powerhead.<br />If, or when you swap it out for something newer or more reliable, the powerhead and the outdrive will have to go.<br />Then the transom filled in.<br />Then you can choose any engine/outdrive, or outboard you want.<br /><br />Converting to an outboard will be easier and more cost effective.

so i have to keep the L drive intact? i cant just get the uppers from one drive and then mismatch, taht sux, the hull is in such good shape i wonder if that jet boat idea from the other thread is any good.

how do u "convert"? i mean the transom doesnt have the typical outboard look.
