Just had a Suzuki DF50 installed on pontoon boat. The water pressure gauge shows no pressure, even at wot. What should the pressure be? Thanks

Re: Suzuki water pressure

More importantly, what's the temp of the motor at WOT?

Re: Suzuki water pressure

If the water pressure gauge is plumbed into the tell tale line, it will run 5 - 8 PSI at WOT and just a couple of PSI at idle. The relationship between water pressure and temperature is one-way. Just because you have water pressure does not mean the engine won't over heat. However if there is NO water pressure the engine will definitely overheat. Water pressure gauges merely indicate that the water pump is working. It is no guarantee the engine is cooling properly.
