I am having problems with a DT 75 ser. 07501 131250. I bought this motor 4 years ago, and havent been able to get it to stop popping. I went through the motor and checked all the electronics and set all the gaps. I have also resealed the motor, thinking it was a lean miss.
I was thinking that the carb jets might be too small, thay are 140's. this motor came off a 22 footer and now it is on a 14 footer. This has been driving me to drinking, dident take much.
Can anyone help me. I'm just popping mad.

Re: Suzuki popping

Look for corrosion around the terminals on the switchbox. The best way to do this, is remove them one-at-a-time, and clean them using a wire brush....Or what I use, a dremmel drill with a rotary brush. What a pretty job it does!
If this doesn't solve it, you may have HV arcing over someplace, iether inside of the switchbox or coils, or outside of these components or the plug wires. Nothing can be done about an internl arc, except to replace the bad component.
A good way to find an external arc is on a dark night with the cover off. It will be visable, and often accompanied by a ticking sound.
