We have a 1989 Suzuki DT65. Estimating about (350) hours of total operation time.
Engine starts up immediately when cold and runs normal through all RPM ranges smoothly.
After engine has been running on and off (drfiting/bottom fishing) for about (4) hours performance issues arise.
When starting engine (after the 4 hours) it is required to operate the choke and raise the idle RPM control lever while enigne is in Neutral. It is also necessary to Rev the engine up and then quickly shift it into forward while maintaining 1000 RPM's to avoiding an immediate stall. Once the engine is running, in gear and RPM goes above 1000 RPM engine runs normal all the way through and up to wide-open throttle.
This performance issue is the same each and everytime out on the water.
Work done to date to solve issue.
1) Carbs have been rebuilt
2) All fuel lines replaced
3) Primer bulb replaced.
4) Fuel pump has been rebuilt.
5) Head gasket has been replaced.
Any suggestions/comments or insight would be helpful.
