This Suzuki outboard starts, idles, trolls great. The problem is on acceleration to cruising speed. When the throttle lever is pushed, the motor increases in rpm and the boat accelerates normaly, but then I hear a beep from the throttle control and the motor immediately cuts down to a "bogging" state. At this point the beeping continues in regular intervals and moving the throttle lever any further produces no reaction from the motor. I have been told that this is a safety feature that allows the boat to get back to the landing. What is this and how do I fix it? I have had it to a Suzuki dealer for repair but they refuse to work on it anymore. They tell me it is too old and they can't get parts.

I do not know much about Suzukis, but have read some of them had oil flow switches that put motor into RPM reduction if it sensed low or no oil flow to the motor.
Also there was a water level switch that did the same thing if block was not full of water.
Gauges should show what alarm is in I guess
