Hi Guys,

I just was given a Suzuki DT 75 SN 07501 709127. I am going to re power with this motor and Have a couple of questions.

1) Where do I find the year of the motor? Is it part of the SN... like the 91?
2) Does anyone know how and where to get a replacement ignition key? The guy lost the original.

Let me know what you all think. The nearset Suzuki dealer to me is about 75 miles away.

Thanks,

JLMiok

1987, Carefully remove the large plastic nut that retains the ignition switch, you will see a number 1 through 6 or 101 through 106. Order that key number.

I will check it out.

Do you know of a good source to order from?

How did you figure out it is an 1987 model?

Normally I would say support the host of the forum but I was not able to find it here at iboats, try Brownspoint marine for parts, they also have a chart to identify the year.

Removed the nut but I don't see the number. Where will the number be located exactly?

Mine was stamped on one of the two flats in the threads under the mounting nut, if you have the NA12S remote you may have to remove the back cover to see the number on the body of the switch.

Well, the number I found was 20. What do I do with that it's not any of the numbers you gave me?

Where did you find your number? Go to ebay and type in na12s and let me know if your remote looks the same as the ones for sale, if not, post a photo of yours.

Re: Suzuki DT 75

Me again... I have a new problem. Got the motor up and running but I had to crank it with the rope. Starter doesn't have enough strength to crank it with the plugs in. This thing has a lot of compression. 148-150 lbs on all cylinders. I have been trying to find somewhere that can rebuild the starter or a source for parts. I need some other parts too. Accelerator cable end, fuel fittings, etc... Brownspoint didn't have the starter. Any suggestions anyone???
