I have a 2001 DT70 Suzuki which has very low hours ( approx. 250hrs). The boat idles normally and will run smoothly up to 2500rpms. The engine maxs out at 3000rpms. I have already change the fuel supply line the primer bulb. Still will not go over 3000rpm

To All; Thanks for responding. the problem wound up being a leaking oil filter gasket causing a low oil safety warning and the safety switch was shutting down the engine.

If the motor was leaking enough oil to lower the pressure I would have though you would have posted about a bad oil leak along with the RPM problem.

But good to hear you found your problem and the motor runs well now

The low oil pressure would also set the visual oil alert on the multifunction tachometer and the warning alarm. You never mentioned that happening.
