Suzuki DT 30 info

I was just given a DT30. I have found several bits of info online , mainly looking for a year. Is there any reference to year in the vin # ? The motor came from Tn which Im told has no titles on motors. I will soon find out what pain it is to aquire one as Mo requires it to be titled. Thanks for any and all info anyone can give me

With Suzuki the first number after the dash is the 4th number of the year it was made, for example a dt 30 with the serial number 03001-511087 at first glance could have been made in either 1985 or 1995, but the 03001 prefix shows it was a 1985. ere's the breakdown of dt 30's by year, just match up your serial #
