Have a good 12v input to gray IGN wire on gauge and good ground on black lead. 4 conductor modular plug seems good and tight on signal wires to harness. Have never seen REV, OIL, TEMP, CHECK ENG lights prior to or after starting engine. Motor "beeps" prior to starting and it runs fine. I've tried a new gauge to no avail. I'm not sure what to look for on engine side of harness but I'm assuming I should at least see the OIL light on when key is switched on prior to starting

Who told you that the 9.9B provides that function? Did you ask your dealer prior to shelling out all that money (twice?)?

If it has the check lights on the cowl it should work. I have a DF25A and it does. 3 lights up on the gauge until the beep clears. The tachometer will also sweep the amount of hours on the motor if you watch it. Every 1000 rpm is 100 hours when it sweeps on startup.

Contrary to popular belief, not all Suzuki engines are the same.
