I have Suzuki DF60A 2022 on 17ft fiberglass fishing boat which weighs around 1,100 that struggles to get on plane with full tank of gas (20 Gallons), a cooler with ice, and two adults weighing close to 200lbs each. I have adjusted the engine mounting two holes up with a slight improvement. Someone recommended to try a different pitch prop, which is on order. Today, I decided to verify if my throttle body is fully open when in WOT. I noticed that it still had about 20% before it is fully engage to top pillar.
The first picture is throttle body in Neutral while the second one is in WOT on top mount binnacle.
Note that there is still some clearance to upper pillar. The video confirms that it can move further up after removing the cable.
Is my assumption correct or it should have that clearance? If so, it may be one of the reason why boat struggles to get on plane as it is not fully open?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
