Hi guys,
At the end of last season I noticed that at times the rpm would drop on my 2004 Suzuki DF140, it appeared to happen a lot at low speeds coming into the beach or trailer.
I took it to the dealer. They tested everything, took it for a test ride and said it was perfectly fine. Looked at me like I was crazy. The next day they called and said they discovered that the RPMs dropped when they used the tilt / trim switch. They have no clue what it is.
The tilt trim switch is an after market switch that I recently installed, could be related, although it works perfectly. When I get the boat in the water I want to see if it happens with the engine mounted tilt / trim switch as well.
When I first owned the boat I once turned the battery off by mistake while underway. I know that is bad, spank me later, but I remember the exact same thing happening with the tilt /trim / rpm drop.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Todd
