suzuki 250 shuts off at 3500 rpm

2006 250 Suzuki. When powering up it runs fine then shuts off at 3500 rpm(3000-4000)
Any ideas would be helpful. Mobile tech scheduled for next week to scan it but if we can come with a fix I will cancel

running out of fuel in the VST will shut one down and so will spark going away.
you need to be checking on things

Running out of fuel was the correct answer! Pick up screen was clogged in the fuel tank
