well finally got some pics online to show you guys some progress i have made just need to finish up some grinding on the transom shell and i am good to go on gluing the new one in. couple questions

1. i was gonna tab the new transom in 6 inches or so i am sure that's enough but i thought i would check

2. whats a good way to glue up the new transom to the transom shell, i have removed the transom using the inside method. i am thinking lots of clamps and maybe some temporary bracing from the keel stringer to the bottom of the transom where the clamps cant reach. any thoughts on this or other ideas are very welcome.

Nice little boat there. I tabbed up 6 inches and then layered the transom to match the thickness of the tabbing. I also glued the transom to the skin with Pl glue.

PL works for me, or cabosil thickened poly resin and mat.
Draw it tight with bolts through , seal the holes later.
It has to fit snug or you get air pockets. A couple of 2x4's from side to side inside and outside, run the bolts thru the 2x4's to even the force out.
Thats the best way to clamp it, pushing from the inside as you describe is not enough.

So i almost have all the grinding done that i need i am just wondering what you guys use in the tight spots i am thinking a wire wheel on my grinder would be good for the curves but will this give me a properly prepared surface for poly resin everything else is done to a 24-26 grit finish which i know is good. any thoughts?
