I bet, it looks massive in comparison.

Do do you know how the draft compares?
I assume 16-18’ is good for small medium and large-ish lakes but the 22is medium and up?
A camper top on a 22 would work well for overnighting maybe if a suitable camping spot couldn’t be found.
I’d find it a lot more usable than an islander during the day and roomy enough for 2 people to sleep in at night
My v5 22 draws about 30-32 in with the outdrive fully down, 18in or so from hull to waterline (with a 5.7 mercruiser so it's a bit stern-heavy.)

Lol, maybe.

Can I ask if you need a seat slider, or do you have your seats back far enough that you can stand up at the helm? If the latter, do you feel you sit too far away from the wheel?

No way you're going to stand between the wheel and the seat, you have to bump out to the center

Thanks, do you feel like it can be done with a slider? Or is this WITH a slider?

I used a slider on mine. The idea being able to adjust the seat back for me while being able to be close for the admiral.

It now sits as far back as possible and never gets changed... If I had to do it over again, I would move the seat further back. Didn't realize how tight it was going to be between the steering wheel and my knees. Also once you off set it, you can no longer rotate it 360 since it isn't centered.

Thanks. I imagine the seat hits the sides because its off center?

If you moved it further back, do you feel you could stand up behind the wheel?

Thats the whole basis of my wanting one. Of course the adjustibility is nice too

So yes and no, I can stand with one knee on the seat with relatively good control, but I think you are underestimating how low the steering wheel will be. I am 6' 2" and have to considerably hunch to be able to stand and use the wheel. I only do it when I am loading the boat or need to be able to move quickly from steering wheel to another part of the boat.

5’9” here. It’s a low reach for sure. I too have to hunch if I really want to turn it. Often I stand beside the seat but I don’t like being disconnected from the throttle/ gears. Or at least, I want to be right there instead of leaning for it in a hurry

Agreed with wanting to be connected. I tried to roughly estimate where my seats were placed since I had everything out and just a hull. In the end, think I did well with my estimate. If I could do it again, I would definitely move the driver seat further back and not worry so much about the height.

Today I mocked up a set of sculpted OMC seats that I acquired. I just put them on milk cartons to try. I think I’ve got it all figured out now. I’m going with the taper lock bases, The 2-3/8” AD posts and swivel slider seat mounts. The bottom of the seat was supported at 12 inches. The seat felt pretty high but actually pretty nice.

I think that the sliders will work enough to allow me to stand up in front of the wheel.

unfortunately, I don’t think the swing to rotate the drivers chair will be very good due to the controls. The passenger might be able to swing around 180°. If nobody sitting in it it will definitely rotate 180° the other way so that at least you don’t have to disengage the seat to reverse it should anyone want to sit backwards when trolling.

I could probably make both swing around easily while somebody sitting in them however I don’t want the seats too close to each other in the aisle. The boat is already small enough. ( OK not small but not spacious)
i’d like enough room to place a rod locker in between the seats in the floor.
