The sunpad on mine gets used alot. But I much prefer them to sunbathe on the bow seats. The view is much better......I mean safer!:D

Ummmm..... Hostage, you're in Rochester, NY.... come to FL, and you'll feel differently about sunpads. In warm climates, they get used, and that makes for some very nice scenery! :D ;)

Let your critter swim...

I got an idea man still working on it!!, I am going with a ramp though shes getting old and I think a ramp a bit longer will be easier on her in the long run...

That's the second time I've heard the word "scosche" used. The first time was a couple years ago from someone I work with. I asked him if that's more or less than a tad... He said, just a little more.

Its this much >< just a bit more then a litttle, I got it from my dad's best friend, huge scotch drinker and when he got a little off plumb everything became a scosche

How are things bud?

BTW Meet Infideltarget he's good people and should fit into the routine nicely!!

maybe a small gantry crane? like the ones big boats use to hoist PWCs onto the deck...only smaller. Or maybe a Warn winch on a boom and a swivel...just hook 'er up before you let her swim...it would act like a leash of sorts...then when it s time to go, flip the switch and reel 'er in! (hooked to the handle on the doggy life jacket of course)

Im kinda digging the winch idea. I have a Boxer. He's 65 lbs now and not even a year old yet. He's a big baby too! I can just imagine the picture of him swimming around, and me hitting that winch switch...and watching as he tries to swim while being winched in...then him hangin there by his jacket handle as I swivel him on board. I'm laughing to myself about that visual right now!

A ramp will be slippery. Painting it with sanded paint will be bad for her pads. The steps Fireman has looks like the perfect solution...

Sounds like some good memories are there...

Things are good, and getting better. It's looking like I'm going to be able to get to The St Augustine get together in June. Can't tell you how much it means to me to actually be able to make it. Man, I wish you'd be there. When I asked my wife, "Isn't Father's Day in June?", she gave me a look that told me, that just sealed the deal... Sasto mentioned the week of 17SEP11 being good for a get together in his post, "Another Florida get together". My birthday is September, 20th. That get together is a done deal for me. It's plenty of notice. Any chance of you making that one happen? Some good people gonna be there.

It's good to meet you, infideltarget. When I read the explanation for your username I was impressed and relieved. When I first saw your name on a post, I thought "he's a target for an infidel? Hope the infidel drops the target!!! Glad you're on our side; and sorry for the mistaken identity.
Infidel, several usernames catch my attention regardless of what forum, I always read what they have to say. I'll be lookin' out for ya.

Well, now that we've 'jacked this thread three different ways, we can talk more any time in "dockside chat" about just about anything. Catchya later...

Remove the plug from your boat and get enough "ballast" in there to lower the stern of the boat so the dog has no issue getting onto the swim platform :p

If I had a sunpad my girls would use it as a fish cleaning table.

Good to meet you too! No worries on the ID...I knew it would be that way on occasion. Maybe one day I will be able to make a gathering, but definitely not gonna happen this year.

I don't honestly think there is enough ballast for this old pooch with out sinking the boat! I am building the ramp style for her it will be covered in outdoor carpet but will be a little longer and less steep for her old butt, it should be pretty easy for her and I will post some pics once done.

Note this will be pretty big so it may not work for a smaller boat but I am working on a solution for that as well, I don't want to say to much as this may be something I may market in the future.
