We have all seen those photos of those boats with the enormous sun pads with a plethora of beautiful women sun bathing or sitting on them. With all the photos you see, it seems like women would flock to these like cats do to catnip. Though I never once seen these used for this purpose. I have put my jumps seats in the sun pad position, though it didn't seem to attract any women. Granted my g/f wouldn't be to pleased if this was the case. I don't think I have ever seen one woman sunbath on the sunpad, but granted I don't really blame them. Who would want to lay down elevated on a surface only to have some jerk come by with a mammoth wake or some joker to WOT dumping the contents of the sunpad into the drink. It seems like it would make more sense to have a smaller boat or more usable seating. Also someone could get a cuddy and put some padding on the top of the cabin.

The still seem completely pointless to me.

My wife is demanding one for our boat. I haven't found one yet but I admit, I haven't looked too hard either.

Hostage, to each his own. My 21' cuddy had a sun pad and I LOVED it. My wife sunbathed on it "all the time". So just because they seem pointless to you, doesn't mean they are pointless to everyone (or anyone) else.

We have a bunch of go-fast boats on the river over here and during the summer, they are always decked out with the finest tan lines around!

Shoot...that's one of the reasons I reupholstered my sun pads on the bow of my boat. I have the best view from the salon bridge while cruising!!

Hostage, it was the selling point to my boat, my wife found the rear sunpad and it was sold, she loves it and I love seeing her sunbathe on it......then this happened

My boat has one like yours. My wife and children love it. When we get a full camper top made for the boat, it will be an additional place to sleep for the night.

Never thought of it as a chick magnet.

That look from the pup would have been just to check if my back was turned. If it was turned, the next sound would be the splash.:D

The lil' Ray's back seats can be set up for it and it's handy sometimes.

Sorry hostage, but it isn't all about the boat. Some guys need a Harley and others can do it on a suzuki.

Just sayin...

The Pooch unlike the wife has this wonderful trait, its called listening so when I tell the pooch "no more water my back hurts from lifting your big butt back into the boat" she listens, the wife not so much....no I don't use the big butt line with the wife either!

I imagine not! If your wife is anything like mine, you would be picking your own big butt up out of the water after saying that! Two sounds...SMACK,and SPLASH... then "I was kidding, honey"

Speaking of SMACK/SPLASH have I ever told you the story of when I decided to test the bow with the filler cushions as a Bow Fishing platform? well after I came too my wife informed me if I ever tried that again I could get that arrow removed at next weeks over 40 "Physical"

Right...we do not mess with the sunpads...no, no, no, no, no. Stay behind the wheel where you belong. Maybe move as far fore or aft as the general helm area allows. Driver's seat=good...sunpads=bad. Speaking of...does anyone know where I can get the missing cushion to my bow filler cushion set? I am missing one. Wife says that she "suggests I start looking for one". Help? Anyone?

Sunpad on our previous bowrider was used all the time.

you would have better luck making one yourself and then having it upholstered I bet, take one that you have apart so you can reproduce the one your missing just have to add or subtract a scoshe here and there

Yeah...thinking I may try to modify a rear jump seat pad from another boat. Man...I need to get home. All these projects are adding up quick!

That's the second time I've heard the word "scosche" used. The first time was a couple years ago from someone I work with. I asked him if that's more or less than a tad... He said, just a little more.

Good idea, fabricating a new pad. Ask Fireman431 for guidance...
