I have a 2000 mercury 90 hp 3 cyl engine. When starting the engine, I have to depress the plunger on the choke solenoid which means I have to remove the cowling everytime.I don't understand why this is necessary. I have a 2000 sundancer pontoon boat. To start the engine I depress the key which I thought activated the choke solenoid. Since I am having to depress the plunger on top of the choke solenoid to get a cold start done, does that mean I have to replace the choke solenoid or is there another option
