suggestions on removing fuel from tank

im lookin for ideas in how to remove the fuel from the tank of my 91 sunbird corsica i/o boat. I filled the tank up a month ago then wound up having to take the boat in for a new motor. The season is ending up here in Ontario so I was wanting to take most of the fuel out for the winter rather than leave it in. I do have stabil fuel stabilizer in it but it could be up to 8 months before i get it back into the water. There is a screen or something restricting me from putting a hose down the filler tank to siphon and after accessing the upper tank where the sending unit is, i see no way to gain access without fuel rolling out of the top if i undo the hose. Like i said, i had filled it to the brim.

Any ideas would be welcome

Ayuh,...... One way is to hook up an electric fuel pump to the fuel line, 'n pump it out,.....

What Bondo said. However no big deal to leave it in there if its new. I do all the time and it's fine.

I’d leave it, too. Gas will be fine in 8 months, especially with stabilizer.

The only thing I use is seafoam. And not every season. I put it in every other year just because I can.

I've used stabil in years past but I'm skeptical that any make a + difference.

I am not sure anything is actually required, however, marine Stabil is probably what you’d want to use. It certainly won’t hurt to use it.

Same here. I once used 2 year old stabilized fuel and it was fine!

I use an old 12v Holley fuel pump I had on a truck years ago.
Connect it to the hose that comes from the gas tank
and pump it into 5 gallon gas cans.
