Suggestions on how to fill my onboard gas tank?

You are way over thinking it. This is the only boat I've added oil prior to filling up. It will mix. And running anything WOT for any length of time imo is senseless. Do you run your vehicles at WOT? Yourself? Never understood the need to fish at 70mph. Not like the fish will stop eating I those three minutes earlier you got there.

All my Evinrudes have run 100 to 1 for decades. Hand start testing of compression is still the same.
Web postings are ...A I.... The cover of my motor HAS 100 to 1 stamped right over the hose connection.
my recall of no more than 50 to 1 was the few problems on winter condensation droplets causing some rusting spots next spring. So they just did the best thing to protect those motors from forgetful people & marinas.

If it were me, I'd just add the oil to the tank before filling at the gas station and let the road agitation do the rest. Modern 2-cycle oils seem much easier to mix than in olden days.

When the red plastic 14 gallon tank started cracks, due to sun light.
Changed to 3 of my old red metal 6 gallon tanks. The mixing is a joy and done correctly.
Use up 2 tanks. Head to the refueling dock. It prevents running totally out at any time. I carry a clear plastic bottle with a black M M line for correct amount of oil to be used each time. Another benefit is a load of watery gas. Will no longer cause me to need a tow back. Been there.

Oil in first. Then gasoline. If you move the nozzle end around in circles. You will create a powerful mixing of the gas and oil. You can figure out the logic patterns of using the powerful stream of gas rushing into the tank of oil.

I appreciate the link. I've had Carpal Tunnel in the past, but my current physical limitations go way beyond that. And no, I don't want to turn this thread into another old guy health problems gripe session!

My WOT comment was about having to have the perfect 50:1 ratio which is only needed at said rpms. Otherwise close is fine, no need to premix and hoist into the boat.

I put the oil in the oil tank and fuel in the fuel tank.
Mixes perfectly every time....lol

On the subject of "filling gas tanks", remember the days when the tank was mounted on the rear of the outboard engine and you had to lean over the stern to fill the tank from a 5 gallon gas can you brought along? And.........great sport when the water was rough!

Then with the fuel residue that usually accompanied the process on your hands, you were expected to bait your hook and try to entice something to eat it.......Yuck!!!!

Remember those days well !! 1954 Elgin 7.5 up outboard....tank fill in the back, but it would turn 180 so the fill was inside then. Wasn't strong enough to handle a 5 gallon gas can but did carry a couple one gallon gas cans. Gas smell from the splashes never went away, but it didn't seem to bother the catfish. Ahhh....the good ole days !!

Thanks Chris, you are correct. I already got the info I wanted and have stated my plan in other posts in this thread. I guess some guys are too lazy to read.
