I am VERY impressed with the pontoon idea. I guess that I'll change my answer and say that you've compensated for the removal of styrofoam. The general rule of thumb is typically that if you remove foam to then add it back into another area of the boat. I think that adding missile silos (pontoons) to the side qualifies.

Just out of curiosity I figured the volume of your 'toons. If they're 6" in diameter and 8' long they hold 1.57 cubic feet each, double that is 3.14 cubic feet x 63 lbs = 197.82 lbs. of added capacity for your boat... but I realize that the 'toon are there for stability more than anything.
I think theres also pipe weight verses bouyancy force to consider and probably a density(material) thing as well.
All things being said it's a pretty cool idea,diffenity going to help the boat from sinking if swamped.
If those 2 cylinders were straped together by themsleves,it looks like they would hold acouple hundred pounds.
Have you ever taking a video(youtube)of it running,think it would be neat to see.
