Hey guys! Looking for some advice on a sturdy boat seat base. I have a late 80s Princecraft 16 foot aluminum console boat. I replaced the floor last fall and got rid of an old, bulky seat base at the front of the boat. I'm hoping to replace the seat base with something flat, so i don't have to trip over a big hump of a base.
I'm looking at 2 styles of seat bases: 3/4 inch pin-style versus 2 3/8 inch taper-lock style. How sturdy are those 3/4 inch pin-style seat bases? Would it be sturdy to hold a seated boater while on plane? The previous seat base had the larger 2 3/8 inch seat bases, so i'm assuming i will have to go with one of those. Unless someone can recommend something different? I've added a few pics for attention LOL
