Re: stuck in neutral

Hello gloomis and welcome to Iboats. When the shifter is in neutral can you spin the prop with your hand? When the shifter is in forward or reversed can you spin the prop with your hand? If yes to the first question and No to the second question your prop is probably spun and it will either have to be fixed or replaced. A spun prop is like a safety devise in the prop that is suppose to prevent damage to the lower unit. Hard rubber gives way so the prop will not spin under load.

A quick run to a prop shop will verify if the hub is spun or not and rule that part out.. You may also have a broken throttle cable. See if you can shift it manually at the motor..

I'm thinking you have something wrong at the control box...or cable came loose or broke...most likely don't have a rubber bushing that can spin on late model Chrysler...just a thought :)

The only way to find out what's up with the lower unit, is to take it off and inspect it. You will need a Manual to do this and some help from this forum will get you through it...

You need to get away from that computer, put the boat on a trailer, and take it to a mechanic. You have no idea what year motor you even have, so how can anybody else help you? You say you have a problem in the throttle box, and people here are saying spun prop, take the lower off, man, that will get ya in just more trouble
