Maiden voyage of the 14 foot Landau with 15hp Mariner, choked it pulled 3 times fired , died. Never fired again, wore a large blister on my pulling finger. After using the trolling motor to catch bait, son says "think the float could be stuck" so tapped the carb bowl and it fired up, ran, idled, and ran all the way to the far end of the lake. Return trip worked fine.
Last night I went out by myself, and it would run 150 yards or so and die. Started on 1 pull every time, went most of the way to same spot to fish. Before returning to the ramp I tapped the carb. bowl, but it would not run non stop unless I continued to prime the bulb.
Would the float be the problem? Or something else? I'm using 32:1 fuel but will upgrade to 50:1 this weekend. When it is running I never get much past mid throttle, as I'm not in a hurry, especially after dark. Would some Sea foam help with a sticky float? Thanks in advance, Webekin
