I double the size. If I need a 1/4" inch hole I drill 1/2" etc.. I just drill the hole then use a couple layers of Packing tape on one side and then putty knife to pack the hole full of te PB resin. Works Great!!!

This is a great way, but the really best way it to avoid holes below the water line at all...now I know there are times with no choice, but drill holes in your transom as a last resort only.

OK, then Option TWO...

Lam up 8 Layers of 1.5 oz CSM and make yourself a Glass BAR and then laminate that to your transom to screw your fish finder into it.

I like the first option. I think I will drill the holes all the way through. Then squirt PB into the holes until it comes out the other side, while I have the transom exposed. I wish I didn't take the wood all the way down in the sides where hardware usually gets mounted and just filled it all in with PB in the first place.
