stringer repair

i have a 1995 vip firestar 18ft. I have torn the floor and stringers out and replaced the main stringers.
There are 2 small stingers that make up the ski locker. I can not get new wood in there with out removing the cap. I am wondering if cutting out a portion of the floor- in the bow to access this rotten wood and then grafting the deck i cut out back in with new ski locker stingers and decking underneath is a possibility i believe that as long as i don't cut the whole bow floor out it wont compromise the structure at all (the floor in the bow is part of the cap with plywood underneath for support)

yes that is the same boat you can barley make out that the floor in the bow is about 1/2" higher that the rest of the deck that 1/2" floor is what i need to cut out

Your plan "Sounds" correct, but again, without actually seeing the exact situation it's very difficult to know how to advise you. Post up some pics of how your boat looks now so we can "SEE" where you're at.

Re: stringer repair

it keeps flipping that picture upside down on me. this is a terrible picture and i apologize for that in advance .
You can kinda see whats going on in the picture. If you look Where the stringer is sitting, just inside of it you can see the discoloration where the ski locker was. There is two 4' stringers that make up the sides of the locker they also support the deck under the bow. To get new wood under there i need complete access to about 1/3 to 1/2 of the bow floor I figure i can cut the floor build the ski locker lay the new floor carpet the new floor then graft the section of bow back in and carpet over the ugly graft repair

A few pictures from different angles would be good. Your idea may be OK, but it is hard to tell from the 1 picture.
