I have been grinding away on my little 14' project boat for a few weeks now and have noticed that there were never any stringers in this thing. It had a floor from the back seat to the front seat, which are long gone. It looks like there are small floor support beams which are almost like PVC pipe cut in half and glassed in the middle of the keel. I want to make a solid floor in this thing which will run just about the same size as the former floor. I plan on putting 3-4 of them in. I will be using 1/2" marine ply. I plan on glassing it completely, and using PL so seat them on the hull and them glass them down after 48 hrs of dry time. I have searched and searched and then I searched again for any info as far as placement of these stringers. Anyone have any suggestions? I also have read many different ways to secure the floor to the stringers! PL, use cross members and screw to them, Both, screw right to the stringers, no screws, what is the BEST known way to make a solid floor? And do I even need stringers? I find 95% of my answers on here pretty easily. (go to the hull extension thread)But when I get stumped I have to ask, as I do not want to spend all this time on a boat and have one dumb mistake which weakens/rots the boat in 12 mos. Thanks for any help guys. I have a pic posted to make this a little easier!
