Stretching Canvas?

Hi all, I've got a custom bimini top for my '75 Chrysler Charger. I've found though, that over the years, the canvas has shrunk. Is there any easy way to stretch the canvas back out? Or am I dead in the water and need to have a new top made? Its a really nice, full-coverage top with zip out side windows.

Thanks!

I had one like that, I would snap what I could then wet it real good and it would stretch enough to fasten up

Thanks Xtraham, I'll give that a try next chance I get. Give me something to do while I wait for a new water impeller.

i have no idea if it would work or not but things tend to soften up in the sun, so if you still get it where you are you could try laying them out all morning or somthing and when they get really warm try putting them on.

You are a stickler for details, eh? :D

You are correct to point out the original posting date, but it is still a topic that inquiring minds need to know. Just think of how many wiring questions that keep popping up. For those who may still have an interest in stretching an old top, unless it is completely dead; lay it out in the sunshine, snap as many fasteners as you can, and use a hand held steamer from the underside and snap the rest.
