Re: Stress cracks - trailer tires?

i've shopped a little for tires lately, too.

this is what NTB had in stock in this area last week, 14"
Denman C Radials- $81.99
TVC C Radials- $68.99

i haven't heard of either and am still looking. please post what you find, too. thx!

anyone know where to get cheap wheels? i want to add a spare and have it match this:

marine engine has them for $163 with Goodyear Radial. goodyear's seem overpriced with their made in china badge now.

nationaltire and battery or tire kindom (same thing) has low budget trailer tires for $63.oo installed and balanced. I have used them for years on various trailers boat and work trailers I own (st 225/75 14). They outlasted my goodyears. I cant remember the brand name though ill check and get back .

The weather cracks you have are basicly normal because rubber drys out, as long as they arnt too deep or look like slices you should be ok but start replaceing them if you can. Even when you buy new tires they will start to crack in a few years covered or not. If you have tires on your car over 2 years old take a look at them they are prob starting to crack too. Armour all and these tire conditioners speed up the rubber drying process I would not use them unless you need that wet tire look.

Salty,
I have heard good things about Demans. Never heard of TVC's.

Go anywhere else other than Marine Engine and the price will be way less.

The wheel pictured is your basic WalMart aftermarket chrome wheel.
But a regular steel wheel with a vinyl cover for protection from the sun might be cheaper and your spare tire won't get weathered out.
